The Structure: keeping the building from falling !!!

The structure is necessary in order to keep the building from falling down. Structural elements consist of walls, floors, roofs, beams and columns. When we think of structure we normally think of steelwork, however it can be specially conditioned timber and other materials. The structure is designed by an engineer who will take into account the ground conditions, existing structural elements and proposed structural elements (including walls, floor and ceilings). Steelwork and lintels are required to allow for large openings between rooms, extensions and the outside.
